Automatically invest all contributions with Fidelity?

I have a question. Not sure if you can answer. I have some $ automatically deposited into my Roth and it looks like it automatically gets invested… but i have made additional deposits and those have not. Is there a way to auto invest all deposits?

Hey @TAMTAM!

I’m pretty sure the answer is no… at least not with a typical Roth IRA at Fidelity. Investing is a two step process. Contribute the money, then use it to buy an investment. But as you pointed out, if you set up auto contributions, you can also have those auto invested.

If you want to just dump money in and have it auto invested, you can get that with a robo advisor. Fidelity offers one called Fidelity Go, or there are other popular ones like Betterment.com

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I did figure out how to invest my deposits last night on my own; so, I can handle it that way. I check almost daily because I like to watch the roller-coaster.

Have a great day!
