Can I still contribute to my 401(k) for 2020?

I would like to retroactively contribute to my 401(k) for 2020 to reach the maximum allowable contribution of $19,500. Can I do this before the April tax deadline? Or is it too late?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

401(k) contribution deadlines are 12/31 of each year. So unfortunately, you are too late for 2020. But you can still max out IRA for 2020 if you’d like - that has the tax deadline.
