Dead 401k Where to move those funds?

I have a 401k with Fidelity through a previous employer. Those funds are currently receiving a return rate of 15.9%, however, I am no longer contributing. I currently invest monthly into a Pension, a 457 (current return rate of 10%), and a Roth IRA.

Would you:

  • Keep those funds where they are and restart recurring contributions?
  • Put the funds into the 457?
  • Put the funds into the IRA?

Open to any feedback or suggestions y’all might have.

Thank you in advance.

How are the fees with Fidelity? Do you have any other accounts with Fidelity? Have you read the legal protections a 401k offers that an IRA does not?

Personally I refuse to roll over any of my 401ks because they have better protection for liability than my IRAs since I’m venturing out as a solopreneur but your mileage may vary (YMMV)
