How to invest monthly to hit certain allocation percentage?

Hello,

I am currently investing in Fidelity and investing in a total market index fund and total int’l market index fund currently at 75 and 25% respectively. But, with the price difference between the two funds, how do you split a set monthly investment amount so that you hit that allocation target percentage?

Thanks!

Hi Jae,

Since you are investing in index funds and not ETFs, it is quite simple! This is because you can contribute in any dollar amount, so therefore the fund price doesn’t matter.

So let’s say you’re investing $1000 a month, you could set up $750 toward the US market and to $250 to the international market.
