Investing questions

@Jeremy @Chadmethner @vivitron @ShaneSideris 1.I wish to invest in lumpsum, so is it okay to initially invest in small lumpsum like for eg:$250-1000, or should I wait long enough to invest a large lumpsum like $10k-1m (that is if I don’t wish or can’t afford to invest on a monthly basis, but just whenever I can afford to invest). What is your opinion on this?

Invest early and often as much as you can. Lump sum when you can but don’t gather money to lump sum.

Windfalls definitely, but time in the market is key.

Thanks @Chadmethner ! I agree.

Ashley,

Keep in mind the minimum initial investment for certain index funds, for example VTSAX is $3,000. Investing earlier is usually better. Once you hit the minimum you can invest in any increment.

Invest it as soon as you get it! The only exception would be if you’re trying to hit a fund minimum or if you have transactional fees (this should never be the case in the US).
