S & P 500 - All in

Hi there,

I am 31 years old from the UK.

I am:

  • Debt Free.
  • No mortgage. I prefer to rent.
  • Own Rental Properties.
  • Own businesses
  • Own individual Stocks (Only two at the moment)
  • I invest in index funds monthly. (Been doing this for a year so far)

My question is that based on my current situation, would it be far too risky to increase my monthly index fund investment if I were to only invest it into the S&P 500? (VUSA) I am looking to increase this to £2200 per month.

My logic behind this is that I have time on my side, to go through corrections and recessions. BUT worried about not being diversified via country.

Thank you
Alex

Hi Alex,
If you are worried about your portfolio not being diversified by country, you can always allocate a small percentage of it to non-US stocks. Otherwise, I know plenty of people whose stock portfolio only has US stocks - US companies do get international exposure!
