Hello everyone! As you can imagine from the title of this post I am not a US citizen and I live in Europe.
I have been doing some research and for EU citizens is not possible to invest in US ETFs due to some EU government requirements for ETFs that the US government doesn’t require.
There are a few US ETFs available for EU citizens but they have a higher fee and a higher commission for the broker, therefore they are not convenient.
My question is: would it be a good strategy for us to invest in individual US stocks (which is permitted) or should we just stick to the local ETFs and bonds and invest into the permitted international ETFs (Hong Kong and Singapore are the only 2 foreign ETFs listed in the most famous brokerage account available in my country)?
Thank you very much for helping me!
P.S. I only mentioned ETFs because Index Funds are not listed at all into the broker’s account
