Hi,
I’m trying to find the right symbol for investing through Fidelity for a target date index fund. Do you have the option of choosing between funds that are US-only or a combination of US and international stocks? Or are target date funds always a combination of both?
Thank you for the help!
Hi mm60, target date index funds include US stocks, international stocks, US bonds, and international bonds. They’re the ultimate “set and forget” investment option because they are heavily diversified and rebalance over time according to your age and retirement year.
Jeremy has a great post on TDIFs here: https://www.personalfinanceclub.com/seven-reasons-to-put-100-of-your-portfolio-in-a-target-date-index-fund/
