Vanguard LifeStrategy

I was wondering if you would be willing to share your thoughts on the vanguard life strategy funds. My concern stems from the fact that it is a fund of funds and if there are hidden charges involved( I have checked in the website and it says 0.22% but not sure if it has hidden charges) I am not sure if it makes sense to invest in a fund of funds or maybe worth going for another one such as VTSAX and a bond ?I would very much appreciate your thoughts on this.
Thanks

Welcome @Raji_kaippallil!

I really like them! There are no hidden fees. For example VASGX has an expense ratio of 0.14%. That includes all of the cumulative fees of the funds contained within. There are also no transaction fees. So that expense ratio falls under the “very low” category. You can beat it a LITTLE by going with individual funds, but we’re getting close to rounding error by trying to mitigate that fee any more.

If you want to stick with a consistent portfolio of 80% stocks/20% bonds, I think a LifeStrategy fund would be an excellent option!
