I’m looking into opening up a Roth IRA to start investing into index funds. Do you recommend a certain account or are they all the same. I’ve been looking into vanguard and fidelity at the moment.
I’ve had Roth IRA Fidelity account for 6months and l’m going to open Vanguard one soon to see which one gives me a better user friendly vibe. I’m not sure l’m satisfied with F 100% yet.
$3000 for F and $3000 For V.
Why not?
I love my Fidelity account. Very user friendly and the tech support is great. An actual person answers (maybe after you press a couple buttons) and they take the time to explain things and answer your questions. I had a terrible experience with Vanguard but my 403b is with them as I only have a few options to pick from. I got a new phone number and was locked out of my account for months and had to get a form notarized and then faxed. It seemed like the dark ages to me although I understand there’s a level of security they’d like to maintain. But at the end of the day in terms of investments, if you just set up your auto investments and turn on dividend reinvesting then you can’t go wrong with either. Best of luck to you!
Thank you. Good to know
I’d recommend Vanguard or Fidelity. But they’re all the same. Thing you want to watch out for are the expense ratios for the funds you choose. Make sure they’re index funds.
